The Mid-Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational society dedicated to the study and enjoyment of the earth sciences. The Mid-Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society is a member of the Southeast Federation of Mineralogical Societies which is a member of the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies.  The Mid-Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society is open to the public for the education of all who wish to attend.

Meetings

The Mid-Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society meets at 7:30 PM every 3rd Thursday of the month except for the June Picnic. The meeting location is at the Farm Bureau Building at 818 S. Church Street in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Visitors are always welcome.

FiftyForward Donelson Station (Previously the Donelson Senior Center) - Meets at 3:00PM on the Sunday following the 3rd Thursday of the month.  The meeting location is at 108 Donelson Pike in Nashville (Donelson), TN.

Lannom Public Library (Tullahoma, TN) - Meets at 3:00 PM on the 2nd Sunday of the month.  The meeting location is at 312 North Collins St in Tullahoma, TN.

These meetings are all open to the public for the education of all who wish to attend.  Visitors are always welcome!

Schools

In co-ordination with with the Donelson and Tullahoma senior centers, the MTGMS provides instructors and equipment for lapidary and associated classes.  Classes are open to adults 21 and older.  Current class registrations open March 15, 2010.

Newsletter

The monthly publication MID-TENN GEM'ERS is the newsletter of the Mid-Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society. The editor is Ingrid Regen.

Field Trips

Field trips to collecting sites are continually being planned. Details are available in the newsletter and at the meetings.  Because of policy, any private collecting site information cannot be distributed to the general public.

The MTGMS is a member of the Dixie Mineral Council
