The Middle Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society is a non-profit educational society dedicated to the study and enjoyment of the earth sciences. The Middle Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society is a member of the Southeast Federation of Mineralogical Societies which is a member of the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies. The Middle Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society is open to the public for the education of all who wish to attend.

2006 Ptero Award
The Middle Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society meets at 7:30 PM every 3rd Thursday of the month except for the June Picnic. The meeting location is at the Farm Bureau Building at 818 S. Church Street in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Visitors are always welcome.
Donelson Senior Center - Meets at 3:00PM on the Sunday following the 3rd Thursday of the month.
Coffee County Senior Citizens Center (Tullahoma, TN) - Meets at 7:00 PM on the 2nd Monday of the month.
The monthly publication MID-TENN GEM'ERS is the newsletter of the Middle Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society. The editor is Ingrid Regen.
Field trips to collecting sites are continually being planned. Details are available in the newsletter and at the meetings. Because of policy, any private collecting site information cannot be distributed to the general public.

The MTGMS is a member of the Dixie Mineral Council
The Middle Tennessee Gem & Mineral Society hosted the American Federation of Mineralogical Society's, and the Southeast Federation of Mineralogical Societies Convention and Show in August 2006.
On July 9,10,11, 1999 the Middle Tennessee Gem & Mineral Society hosted the Southeast & American Federation of Mineralogical Societies Show and Convention. We were proud to host this show and convention. This show had all the features of the Annual Earth Treasures Show, plus many added educational exhibits and speakers. We will had visitors from all across the Nation attend this show and convention. We also celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Southeast Federation of Mineralogical Societies.
